Friend +ex bf together for one night of partying.. will it work??

My friends and I haven't seen each other in like 4monthes. We want to have a party. But last time they saw me I was with my bf "Phil". We broke-up, but they all love him. How I'm I supose to get him to come to the party and not drive myself nuts? I tried calling him but his mom yelled at me. My mom never yelled at him so what's with that??Friend +ex bf together for one night of partying.. will it work??Maybe you should just have a party without him and have him come over when there aren't so many people around.
