I had a one night stand, do I tell my ex?

This is a slightly complicated question.

I broke up with my boyfriend about a month ago, we were in a long distance relationship most of the time as we are both at university and it was getting difficult, with lots of arguments. We agreed we would re-look at the relationship in the summer, when we were both at home, but made no commitments about it. He tried to get me to say I would not get with anyone else, but I didn't promise. He also said he wanted to know if I did, and that IF I did, he would never want to get back with me.

I still love him.

However, before our relationship began I had been seeing a guy (this is about a year ago) who I also liked. We decided to quit while we were ahead though because he is from the other side of the world (!) and would be going home soon.

He prolonged his stay a good few times, and this weekend when I was home I met up with him. I ended up going out with him and his friends, getting too drunk, and going back to his. He actually leaves England for good in 2 weeks time, and so I'll most likely never see him again, as I'm back at university now.



I don't know if I want to get back with my ex or not, but I know now would not be the right time.



I don't know whether to tell him about what happened, and if I did, when? I know it could jeopardise everything that we had, and untill now I had only slept with him. I don't think he would ever find out but I feel terrible for lying, but fear the truth would hurt him so much.
