Why does it only move the horses?

I'm learning how to play chess by playing against the computer. That's my game:

I pressed takeback and put my pawn back there several times, to see the range of moves the computer can do. Surprisingly, it only moved its horses to F3 and to C3. Why?Why does it only move the horses?
That's because those are the two the best moves in that situation. The computer does not pick moves at random. It is moving to control the center of the board.
Here is a link that might help you get started.

There are many good books for beginners.
For example: Play Winning Chess by Seirawan and Silman

And there are many good wikipedia articles.

I should also have mentioned that you ought to call those pieces by their proper name, knights, not horses.
