I think I read this or someone, or someone told me that a dude hacked in to the pentagon and was playing chess against a computer. But really he nearly started world war 3. Or maybe i just dreamed it all up.

Great film for all ages. It probably was written with an amalgam of real incidents put together. Do you think the Pentagon would tell us?

'Crimson Tide' was based on a true life incident aboard a US nucleur submarine. After that time the nukes aboard subs could only be fired with the highest authority from the US

mainland.

i love that film for nostalgia, seeing the old fashioned modem actually attached to the phone............



apparently it is based on a true story, but i somehow thing that it was changed a lot for the movie, no missiles were ever launched or even close to launching i think (personal belief i admit about the missiles)

there was an article about the guy who wrote the screenplay for it in a recent version on wired magazine. I don't think it was based on a true story, but had a lot of factual bits thrown in.
