I'm thinking of getting the most powerful chess engine known to man; it's called Rybka 4; but my computer is extreamley bad and the hardware is bad; thought it still meets the system requirments. Will it still play it's best against me?Would a chess computer still play it's best against you if you had a rubbish computer? 10 points best answer?
Yes of course it will. The longer you give it to make it's move the more possibilities it will come up with before it makes it's move.
Obviously the more RAM and a faster CPU time will make it work faster. Over the years I have played several different types of chess games.
The best set I had was an animated one. I lost the program a few years ago and have tried several times to find it on the internet but with no luck.
When you selected a piece to move it would grow two legs and then walk to the square and then sit down again. Taking was the best bit. The Rook used to eat it's opponent, blood and snot everywhere!
The knight used to draw a sword and slice the head of it's opponent with great fountains of blood everywhere. And the Queen was sneaky, she used to sidle up and draw a dagger and stab her opponent. Again with gallons of blood everywhere. Great fun and everyone wanted to play when they came over. And if you had the sound effects even better. Various footsteps for different pieces, horses hoofs for the knights and screams and gurgling of the dying!Would a chess computer still play it's best against you if you had a rubbish computer? 10 points best answer?
Yeah, it wont affect the moves that it makes, it will only affect how fluent the game moves.
